The battles were all wrong, even down to the time of day and lighting. It seemed to me that PJ threw away many of the opportunities for spectacular scenes that JRR handed to him on a platter. The siege of Gondor for example seemed scattered and too fast, not the gruelling intense action described in the source material. A edição estendiada serve para isso, para os fãs verem tudo q não foi ao cinema.. Nós, fãs fanáticos, certamente ficaríamos horas a ver o filme, mas e as pessoas normais ficariam de saco cheio com um filme de 5 horas

And orcs never entered the city of Minas Tirith, they simply broke that gate. Too many scenes of Frodo and Sam crying, far too many. necessário para o drama, e no livro tbm teve muitas cenas do Frodo chorando
As for Arwen, Tolkien didn't find her interesting enough to give much plot time to, and he was right. Time wasted with Arwens weepy close-ups could have been better spent on inclusion of scenes such as the mouth of Sauron, or Saruman, who were both glaringly not present.Não creio q o aumento no papel de Arwen tenha deixado mais desinteressante, e qt a Boca de Saruron e SAruman, masi uma vez, Extended Edition
PJ made so many stupid and un-needed changes that I can not list them all.
